Hi. I'm Zoe Stray, Co Founder of SEO Traffic Solutions Ltd. I started my working life in the motor trade where I spent many years trying out various roles.
I made the decision to go down the customer sales route but found that there were too many people just out for what they could get. I knew that I wanted to work with people so tried a few customer service roles but soon realised that being shouted at and belittled down the phone wasn't for me.
After spending two years backpacking round the world I decided my heart was with helping people so I began working for Social Services dealing with adults with disabilities and vulnerable adults.
As you can see, my passion is with people therefore it was natural for me to become the face of SEO Traffic Solutions Ltd, attending many business networking meetings and being the first point of call for our customers.
As far as IT goes, I don't know how the world ever got anything done without it. I'm mostly self taught through my interest in all things new (ok, IT is hardly new now!).
I was first introduced to internet marketing a few years back when James and I met and I'm still learning every day. With my background in dealing with people, I am able to explain the sometimes very complex world of SEO and Internet Marketing in a non-geeky way to our clients who are new to it all just like I was.

Hi, my name is James Herd, the other (and arguably less important) half of SEO Traffic Solutions. Unlike my partner Zoe, my MO lies around all that is technology.
My dad bought me my first Personal Computer for my 14th birthday, it was a Gateway 2000 50 MHz 80486, anyone remember them? I was the first kid on my street to even own a PC let alone have an Internet connection. Kids today don’t know they’re born with their fibre optic Internet; in 1995 I was working with a 14.4 kbit/s dial up modem logging on through CompuServe.
Fast forward 3 years to 1998: this is the point where I remember buying into my first piece of online marketing. I paid $50 to be put on an email list where I would get sent surveys. If I qualified to take the survey and filled it out correctly, I’d get paid. Looking back, it was blatantly a scam. But these kinds of offers (read: scams) are still prevalent today. At 17 years old, this day really stands out in my mind as the day that my internet marketing education began.
It marks the day that I started buying all the online marketing courses I could get my hands on, attending seminars, reading blogs etc. I never hit it big back then, but I made enough to cover my beer money at Uni.
Ahh yes, Uni: after studying Computer Science at California State University of Sacramento (CSUS) I moved back to England to be near family and took up a job as a Project Planner for my local authority. My passion for internet marketing and search engine optimisation (SEO) came with me overseas and continued as a hobby of mine until I met my partner, Zoe Stray.
Over a takeaway and a few drinks one night, I was showing Zoe my latest website and how I had got it to number 1 in Google after just a few days. She will argue that it was her idea, but I like to think it was both of us; we started discussing how valuable it would be for a local business to have a top spot on Google. A week later (June 29th, 2009) we had registered seotrafficsolutions.com and seotrafficsolutions.co.uk and had built a basic website. A year later almost to the day, I handed my notice in at my local authority (arguably the most liberating day of my life).
I now work full time helping businesses of all types and sizes get more customers from the web by increasing their Internet presence. I am in the very fortunate position of making a living out of my life’s passion; I’d recommend it to every one.
